3.5* - some wonderful Christmas-themed stories featuring beloved Disney characters Dec 21, 2009 By Z Hayes
My preschooler and I both enjoyed reading these Christmas-themed stories featuring beloved Disney characters, but like a previous reviewer has mentioned, some of the illustrations are not up to standard. These illustrations are not clear (with a faded like appearance), lack definition, and sharpness. In contrast, some others are beautiful to look at - with the image quality appearing clear and sharp. The stories are generally quite well-written and manage to integrate the Christmas theme beautifully. The stories in this collection are:

I'm rating this storybook three stars because of the great integration between classic Disney holiday stories and original stories featuring favorite Disney characters. Sadly aside from the compilation of stories and the fact that this book is hardcover, that's where the comparison ends between this edition and other Disney story collections. The main thing that threw me off was the fact that NONE of the illustrations are cohesive. It's obvious that some drawings were 3rd and 4th rate. Then, with a new story, the pictures were beautiful and full of true color as should be expected from a name like Disney. Thankfully my preschooler is just happy having another book to choose from for storytime. Although she too has commented on how some characters look "weird" in the book.

Bought this storybook and it came with the pages upside down. Amazon replaced it immediately, but you may get one too!

The books were purchased as gifts for my 4 yr old grandsons. The y love to be read to and enjoyed the stories.

I purchased this book as one of my little princesses Christmas gifts. Every night I have read one story for her until it was all done. The princess loved the stories because lots of them were original and new. They were not duplicates of the same stories written in various Disney books. Illustrations are fine and stories are well written. It is a good Christmas book and a heartwarming gift. Even after the Christmas, from time to time she digs in to the stories and checks them out! She has most of the Disney Story Book Collection (Big Thick Books) but she specifically likes this one. This book has her seal of approval, so I am pretty much sure that your sweet heart will also love it.
