 Fun, but not as fun as it looks Jan 07, 2011

I have to admit, when I first saw this toy, I thought it looked like a lot of fun. However, I also thought that all the pieces would easily stay on and that Dora and/or Boots would dance on the spinning part by themselves. I was unfortunately wrong. You have to manually spin the little 'dance floor' for Boots or Dora, and to have a smaller child do that... well, we all know that just won't happen. And, a lot of the setup pictures on the box look really cute and potentially fun, but the pieces don't latch right, or at all (they are just propped up on the plastic box). So, it can be a big let down. Dora and Boots are cute because they have maracas that can fit in their hands or Boot's tail, but they are small pieces.
I know this set will get used with our other blocks sets, but as far as being a standalone unit... I wouldn't say it is the greatest toy. The music is fun, but it only plays a few tunes and can get old like any toy that makes noise. I got it at a really good price, so I am still very happy with my purchase, but just think twice about what you expect to get from this set.

it could have been as much fun as it looked. My daughter only plays with a couple pieces of this set. She really loves Dora right now so she carries around the figures of Dora and Boots. She plays the songs on the toy sometimes. That is really all there is to do. The blocks are fine to go with other sets, but there is not enough with this set to do anything with.You are paying quite a bit of money for another toy that makes annoying music, two plastic figures, and a small handful of blocks.

This is a great Dora toy that's not girly if u have a son that likes Dora, is a block set and each key on the boombox plays a different tune, plus it actually came with batteries! My kids all like it, age 2, 4 and 9 mo

I got this for my little sister's birthday and she loved it. She watches Dora all the time so when she heard the toy singing she started shaking and jumping around. For the price, I got exactly what I needed.

So I bought this Dora set as a gift from Santa for my three year old to go with my son's Mega Bloks Pull Along Musical Pirate Ship. I suppose I must have missed something, but the Dora set is smaller and the two don't match up. That was a dissapointment as I wanted them to play together. I wish they would be titled something different, like Legos has their Duplos set! My daughter does like them and the music is entertaining.
