I didn't believe some of these reviews -- I was wrong. Jun 26, 2003
By J. C. Kennerly Don't make the mistake I did. Read these reviews, save your money. First of all, the toy can not stand up unless you spend a few moments to balance it perfectly. Try not to breathe during this process, because the only thing that compares to trying to stand this toy up is disarming high explosives. Steady hands are a must. This might not be a fatal problem with the toy, except for the fact that you can not place the legs in a sitting position. Now don't get me wrong, the legs move, they move like wet spaghetti, they just don't move in any logical manner or direction. So you are left with a toy that can lay down on it's back or face. Very impressive Buzz! Secondly, every part of the toy that moves can and will fall off in the first five or ten seconds of ownership. Don't worry though, you can put the pieces back together. You will get very proficient at this because you will be doing it all day, every day, for the rest of your life. I am not yet sure how or when Buzz will leave our happy little family, but I warn you, save yourself, don't even let him enter yours.

Great toy when intact Apr 21, 2003
By Robin M. Loving
"Mom of K aged kids"
My three year old son adores Buzz Lightyear, so I purchased this toy for his birthday last month. He loved it, but became frustrated soon after he began to play with it because it kept falling apart. Neither the backpack piece nor the wings would stay on after being snapped back into place. To help, I tried to glue the wings back on. This was not successful since the wings must be able to move. Nothing could be done for the backpack piece since the battery compartment is under where it attaches. Needless to say, if it weren't for my son's love of this toy, it would have "disappeared" a long time ago. I cannot help but wonder if anyone else has had the same problem with this toy. If so, in my opinion, it should be recalled. If you are considering buying this toy, I would recommend that you inspect it closely before giving it to your child to see that it stays intact.

Big dissapointment for Buzz May 14, 2003
By Jodi L My 3 year old son loves Toy Story 2 and Buzz Lightyear. I saw this doll and had to have it after going to the Disney store and finding that they did not have any in stock with his original uniform on. It has been quite frustrating as the toy falls apart every time you play with it. The backpack falls off if you even look at it and the wings dont stay on. I cant imagine why the wings come off anyway. And to top it off it DOES NOT say "To infinity and Beyond" which is the classic quote of Buzz. I would not recommend this toy as you cant play with it properly if it falls apart each time you pick it up.

Buzz Lightyear Toy Aug 10, 2003 This is a fun toy. The reason the wings and backpack come off is for them not to break off. First, the backpack comes off so you can put in new batteries. Then the wings come off so that if they are in pressure they will not break. Go out and buy this toy for your little ones!
