BROKEN AFTER 6 MONTHS USE... Feb 02, 2011
By LoveMyBabyBoy My husband and I bought this bed for our then 2 year old in July 2010 due to his crib being recalled. It was wonderful in the beginning. Our son loved the colorful stickers with his favorite Toy Story characters on it. We bought this out of necessity from our local Wal-Mart store. If given the choice again, I would have just continued to use just his crib mattress on the floor as his bed until we could afford a better bed for him. The "safety" rails on the sides are horrible. My son was able to pull the top (next to the headboard) of the safety rail off with no problem. This causes the screws in the frame to strip the plastic of the "support" beam in the middle of the bed. The metal of the frame is of low quality. Not strong at all. The weight limit on this bed is suppose to be 50lbs., but the frame is broken (bent in half on itself) under my son's weight 0f 31 pounds. Kids are going to jump on their bed even if told not to do it. If a bed will not support this activity, then it definitely should not be used. I thought we would be able to use this bed for him until he got too tall for it, but now we are stuck with a mattress on the floor again until we can find a decently priced twin mattress set. My advice is to spend your money on a good quality, wooden frame toddler bed or just get a twin bed,if space permits, instead of this piece of junk. I would not recommend this item at all. Save yourself the headache. You'll just end up spending more in the long run.

Not a toy Apr 12, 2012

"The Tooge"
We needed a bed for our (almost) 2 year old boy, and this was on sale. The bed was simple to assemble, took about 15 minutes including time spent tracking down my screwdriver. It seems sturdy enough, considering it's made for a small child. I don't suppose it would support the weight of a full-grown adult, as it's not made for it. Overall, we like the bed and will have to wait to see if it stands the test of time.
Much better than wood Apr 28, 2012
By Lianne My son loves his bed! My husband had a little bit of a hard time getting it set up but it was worth it. Just make sure to give your self some time with the set up and have a little patience. It's low to the ground so just perfect for your son or daughter to get in and out of. Doesn't take up too much space and very lightweight. I would recommend this product and the best part it's fairly inexpensive.
To Infinity and Beyond...well, maybe at least for a year or so. Apr 28, 2012
By Bill The Good: We bought this bed for our just-turned 3 year old son and let me say that he is completely loving his new 'big boy' bed. It cetainly helped that there were pictures of Buzz and Woody stuck on to the headboard. The side railings have been very helpful in keeping him from rolling off the bed. Although the ground clearance is something like 5 inches, so it's not like a big fall anyway. Surprisingly, he slept in the bed through the night on the first try - we were soooo relieved.
The Bad: The bed is definitely not built like a tank, maybe more like a yugo. It is definitely a cheapy throw-away type piece of furniture. The metal frame seems sturdy enough for a kid, but I'd definitely be veeery wary about wanting to sit or put adult weight onto the bed. The mattress support is not wood slats or metal bars. It's some sort of vinyl tent type material that is stretched out and looped around the metal bars of the frame to provide support for the mattress. Something akin to one of those portable cots. There were also some sharp/rough edges on the metal tubes that connected to the legs of the headboard and at the base of the bed that we covered up with clear packing tape to keep our son from getting scratched up.
The Ugly: I am not as handy as most of the reviewers here, so it took me almost an hour to put the bed together. Told you it was ugly.
Overall - The bed is ok and our son loves to sleep on it. We're hoping it will last at least a year, but hey if it doesn't, it was only $50.
